After a degree in applied economics, Charlotte Marchandise has been working as coordinator, communication officer and project manager in the corporate world and social and environmental NGO’s. With the overcoming of the Internet, she became webmaster and community manager, always focusing on how this tool could be accessible, and even developed by the citizens themselves. She strongly believed that we have a huge lever to promote health through the smart cities. Later, she graduated in pedagogy engineering, and she has been a consultant in various fields and with very different publics authorities (politicians, public health stake-holders, migrants, doctors, volunteers, students, seniors…) for 15 years. She has always volunteered in associations, working on sexual health, and then on maternal care. She created a full training for birth doulas in France, and ntributed to develop a network around Europe to share experiences, knowledge, improve conditions around childbirth. In 2012 she founded an Montessori middle school based on ecological and creative values.
Since april 2014, she is Deputy Mayor in charge of Health and Environment in Rennes, France, and has been elected Chair of Healthy Cities in France in September 2014. She seeks to share the values of Healthy Cities, local action, equity and Health in all policies in her town and also at a national level, to advocate to the key stakeholders in all sectors.
She is member of the European Healthy Citries political vision group.
