Kevin Watkins

Kevin Watkins is CEO of Save the Children UK, London. From June 2013 to September 2016 he was Executive Director of ODI, London. There he set the strategic direction of the organisation and managed a senior leadership team. Kevin has spear-headed new research ideas and programmes, and placed an emphasis on strengthening their systems for developing evidence-based policy analysis and strengthening both the quality and accessibility of their research. He has also strengthened their institutional capacity to act as effective communicators, through the media and through engagement with key stakeholders. In addition to directing the Institute, Kevin continued to maintain a strong research role, including writing the 2014 Africa progress Panel Report, developing new ideas on education in Syria, and submitting an article to the Lancet on equity and the post-2015 goals.
