Sandra Lambert currently is the Regional Director for Cardio metabolic Care and General Medicine for South East Africa at Merck (Pty)Ltd SA, a German based multinational company and a subsidiary of Merck KGaA which has been in existence for over 350 years.
She has worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 16years. During this time, she has worked in 3 Multinational Pharmaceutical companies and has held various roles. She has market experience spanning from South Africa to Southern Africa and East Africa covering a total of 14 countries.
In her career she has worked with various disease portfolio’s including Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Pain, Vaccines, Birth control and Malaria. She has experience in product launches, entry into new markets, government tenders and improving access of novel contraceptive methods to women in South Africa. She has successfully created and implemented strategies across various markets which have improved patients access to medicines.
Sandra is a qualified Podiatrist with a special interest in Children’s walking deformities and prior to joining the Pharmaceutical Industry she worked in the public and private sectors in this field. During this time, Sandra published a paper relating to ‘Kaposi's Sarcoma' in the Dermatology Journal of South Africa.
Sandra was a guest speaker at the Cold Chain congress held in South Africa in 2014 and she presented on the present status and future needs of cold chain distribution in Africa - especially for Vaccines.
Sandra has a MBA from WITS University with a thesis on Scenario planning and Strategy.
