About Prof. Dr. Akira Murakami
Prof. Akira Murakami teaches at the Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan. His main research topics evolve around retinal development and cell biology, genetic eye diseases and cell therapy for retinitis pigmentosa. He also works at the WHO Collaborating Center for Prevention of Blindness. He was an Assistant Professor both at the Juntendo University and the National Defense Medical College after finishing his fellowship at the University of Miami.
