About Phoebe Ongadi

Phoebe Ongadi is a distinguished public health leader and Executive Director of the Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations (KENCO), a national umbrella body uniting over 70 civil society organizations engaged in cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship. A holder of a Master’s in Public Health, she brings over 15 years of experience in health systems strengthening, policy advocacy, and community engagement. Phoebe serves on multiple Ministry of Health technical working groups and leads national advocacy initiatives grounded in equity, access, and rights-based care. She champions patient-centered leadership, regional collaboration, and multisectoral partnerships, mobilizing collective action to advance sustainable and inclusive cancer control solutions. Her work exemplifies women-centered approaches to health equity and demonstrates the transformative role of civil society in shaping health policy and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.
