Julius Murke is a medical student at the Charité Berlin graduating this year. Through additionally studying economics and working as an intern at the Heal Africa Hospital in the crisis region of Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo he got involved with global health. Since 2013 he is a member of the Young German Council on Foreign Relations and a co-founder of 'Young Leaders for Health', an organization developing the tools needed for conducting education, research and advocacy in global health. Julius Murke aims at supporting a collaborative, transdisciplinary, evidence-informed approach on dealing with the challenges of a globalised world. To his belief, it is to a considerable extent a question on how to deal with inequity, tempting our belief in democracy, sovereignty and freedom. Global health is a topic addressing the numerous interdependencies of social life. Especially with its comprehensive take it seems best suitable to meet the requirements of the twenty-first century.
