Jaak Peeters is Head of Global Public Health (GPH) at Johnson & Johnson where, together with his
team, he is building on the company's legacy of combining innovation, science, and ingenuity to tackle
some of the most pressing public health challenges of the day to deliver on the promise of improved
health for all.
Advancing a new model, GPH is the first fully dedicated organization within the healthcare industry
focused on combining innovative R&D, novel access programs & approaches, in-country operations and
advocacy to ensure treatments and technologies are available, affordable and accessible for the world's
most vulnerable and underserved populations.
Harnessing the wealth of resources and expertise from across J&J the GPH team places an unparalleled
focus on accelerating the pace of innovation needed at all levels from R&D to delivery to make TB and
HIV history and wrestle other public health challenges. Its ultimate goal is to change trajectory of
health for the world's most vulnerable and underserved populations.
Building on a career at J&J that spans nearly four decades, Jaak brings a unique blend of visionary
thinking, business strategy & leadership to build and enable a team capable of tackling incredible
challenges. In his most recent role as Company Group Chairman Pharmaceuticals, Global Strategy,
Innovation and New Businesses, he was responsible for developing the first global pharmaceuticals
strategy which focused on bringing transformational innovations to address high unmet needs. The
effective implementation of this strategy has helped Janssen to become the most innovative company
in the industry, delivering significant years of life and quality of life to thousands of patients.
Jaak is a member of the board directors of the J&J Foundation, which is responsible for investing in
social impact programs and activities across Europe, the Middle East & Africa and serves as a
board member of IFPMA.
