Dr. Cuallau Jabbeh Howe is currently Assistant Minister for Prevention Services at the Ministry of Health, Liberia. She has to her credit over nineteen years of work experience in the health sector of Liberia. She holds a master' in Health Systems Strengthening and Policy from the King Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belgium (2009-2010). She is a Graduate of the A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine, University of Liberia, with a Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD), 1996. Dr. Howe is a Fellow of the West Africa College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the Liberia College of Physicians and Surgeons.
As a Public Health Specialist, she has managed various departments in the Ministry of Health, Liberia. She served as Director of External Aid Coordination Unit; Director, Grants and Subsidy – Private Sector Engagement; Director, County Health Services; Director, Family Health Division, County Health Officer, and Medical Director of G. W. Harley Hospital, Nimba County, Medical Director and Head of OB/GYN Department, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Hospital, Liberia.
Dr. Howe has represented the Government of Liberia at several high-level meetings globally and in Africa to include the World Health Assembly, West African Health Organization (WAHO), and ECOWAS, AFRO-WHO, amongst others.
Dr. Howe is a strong advocate for women’s rights, inclusion and has championed the reduction of mother and child mortality and uses her time and resources to uplift young girls and women from poverty and illiteracy.
