Michael Nagel

Dr Michael Nagel is Head of Operations within the Epidemic Preparedness Team (EPT or German abbr. SEEG) of GIZ. After receiving his doctoral degree, he became Head of Laboratories in Franceville (Gabon) and later on in Kumasi (Ghana), where he implemented new diagnostics on highly infectious pathogens. Since 2016 he joined GIZ and directed more than 30 missions in more than 20 countries, many under fragile circumstances. He is also visiting professor at the University Hospital of Bonn.
