Prof. Karadag earned her Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Istanbul University, and her MSc and PhD Degrees in Public Health from Hacettepe University. She also holds a postgraduate degree in health promotion from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prof. Karadag was one of the Young Physician Leaders of the World Health Summit in 2018. She has more than 20 years of experience working in multidisciplinary teams to conduct research, develop public health policies and programs for different vulnerable/disadvantaged populations. Her main research interests are health inequalities, healthcare access among vulnerable populations, migration and health, health promotion and education, community mental health, prevention of stigma and discrimination in healthcare settings, community participation in healthcare, and sustainable development/ global citizenship education. She has been working as a consultant for WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNDP, IOM, and the European Commission in addition to different governmental and non-governmental organizations since 2000. Prof. Ozge Karadag holds a Professor of Public Health title in Türkiye with close to 20 years of research and teaching experience in different higher education settings. She worked as a Senior Research Scholar at the Center for Sustainable Development of Columbia University`s Climate School between 2019-2023 and at Columbia University`s Committee on Forced Migration between 2020-2023. During the pandemic, she served at The Lancet COVID-19 Commission and the Global Happiness Council, where she chaired the Vulnerable Populations Thematic Group. Her current work focuses on how to use digital technologies to improve health literacy and healthcare access among youth and populations living with vulnerable conditions.
