Dr Safi is a medical doctor who has gained vast experience in the public health sector, working at all three tiers of the Pakistani health system since 1987. Dr Safi also worked in the health development sector: As Senior Manager Health, at Save the Children US, for USAID Project family Planning through birth spacing. At TRF (DFID funded project) as Provincial Coordinator for AJK & Gilgit-Baltistan, on behalf of DFID project 'Technical Resource facility' he managed Technical Assistance for key areas of health system strengthening. Dr Safi served in various positions in the Ministry of Health where he currently serves as the Federal Director General for Health driving policy formulation at the Federal level with a specific focus on achieving Universal Health Coverage.
