Dr. Nuhad Yazbik Dumit is a tenured professor of nursing and associate dean at the Hariri School of Nursing (HSON), American University of Beirut. She has several funded research projects and related publications in international scientific conferences focusing on nursing workforce issues that aim at creating evidence for improving the profession and its services nation-wide. Recently, her research focus is on refugee and displaced people health needs. She is the founding director of the Scholar Activists for Impact and Learning (SAIL) for change, which is a network of scholar activists partnering with international and national organizations, experts, diaspora, students, and community volunteers, to “rebuild together our communities in a safe eco and social environment”, focused on sustainable solutions driven by local needs. She served as a consultant locally and regionally to higher education projects and professional practice developments. She was the President of the Order of Nurses in Lebanon, June 2015- June 2018 and received several honors and awards at the university, national and international levels.
