About Dr. Julie Lyn Hall
Dr. Hall joined the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as Director of Health and Care in 2015, moving to the position of Chief of Staff and Special Envoy for Health in 2017.
Dr. Hall qualified as a medical doctor from London University in 1991 and completed her public health physician training in 2003. She began her career in international public health as lead coordinator for WHO during the SARS and Avian Influenza outbreaks in China. She has since continued to work in global health in senior positions including as Global Polio Eradication Lead for UNICEF, as Principal Medical Advisor to the Australian Government and as the WHO Representative in Philippines coordinating the international health response to typhoon Haiyan.
In recognition of her services to global health Dr Hall was made a Member of the British Empire in 2007 and awarded the World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine Peter Safar Award for disaster medicine in 2017.
