Suzanna Tkalec

Ms. Suzanna Tkalec is the Humanitarian Director of Caritas Internationalis a confederation of 165 Caritas relief and development organizations working in almost every country in the world. Ms. Tkalec provides confederation level leadership in setting standards and assuring adequate technical and financial resources are allocated for coordinated and quality emergency response and recovery programs. She brings to this position almost twenty years of senior humanitarian experitise having managed emergency responses in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Prior to joining Caritas Internationalis, Ms. Tkalec was the Emergency Team Director for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) where she provided overall leadership and in country representation for IRC's emergency programs in Yemen, Nigeria, the Philippines, Iraq and Syria. Ms. Tkalec also spent twelve years with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) where she covered different roles such as Senior Advisor for Protection in Emergencies and Deputy Director of the Emergency Response Team. She is a Human Rights Lawyer.
