About Prof. Dr. Hian Tat Ong
Prof Ong is currently a Senior Consultant in the Division of Paediatric Neurology at the National University Hospital (NUH). He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1987. His general pediatric training was undertaken principally in the National University Hospital, with a short period in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He obtained qualification for Master of Medicine in Paediatrics in 1993. His advanced specialist training continued in the National University Hospital before he went to Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, USA for his HMDP Fellowship by the Ministry of Health, in pediatric neurology and epilepsy from 1997-1998. He had further training and exposure to pediatric rehabilitation recently at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, Montreal Children’s Hospital, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and Marie Enfant Rehabilitation Hospital in Montreal, Canada in Feb - Mar 2017. A/P Ong has been appointed the Patient Safety Officer for the department of Paediatrics since 2009, and has served to improve the safety processes and workflows involving pediatric care since then.
