Dr. Ariane de Hoog is Head of Strategic Communications. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sector. Ms. de Hoog and her team are dedicated to partnerships and access to medicine activities that have a real impact on our planet. This includes a commitment to Bayer’s goal to help provide 100 million women in low- and middle-income countries with modern contraception by 2030. In 2012, Ms. de Hoog became the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Bayer AG. This was followed by key responsibilities as Head of Communications for various departments, including Strategic Marketing, Women’s Healthcare, Marketing Operations, and Digital & Commercial Innovation at Bayer Pharma, before moving into the sustainability function. Previously, after a stint at an investment bank in Vancouver, Ms. de Hoog was a lead news anchor at DW-TV in Berlin for many years, reporting business news daily across the globe. She also moderated international events for think tanks, businesses and embassies. Before that, she worked for many years at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, and then completed her M.Phil and Ph.D. at Cambridge University in labor market studies. Ms. de Hoog was born in Nairobi Kenya and is a German/Canadian national. In both her work and her private time, she is committed to supporting children and women in low- and middle-income countries through education, and is devoted to inclusion and diversity.
