Efraim Gomez

Efraim Gómez joined UNAIDS in May 2020 as the Chief of Staff. Mr Gómez was previously the Head of the United Nations Policy Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and before that a Foreign Policy Adviser to Sweden’s Prime Minister and Head of the Security Policy Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden. He has been posted to Guatemala, Nigeria, New York and Brussels. Mr Gómez is a Swedish national and a native speaker of Spanish. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science and international relations.
