About Berit Kieselbach

Berit Kieselbach is Technical Officer of the Prevention of Violence team in the World Health Organization (WHO) Department for the Social Determinants of Health. Her role involves the development of technical guidance on the health sector response to violence against children; she supports global and national policy development processes, and supports member states in strengthening their efforts to prevent and respond to violence against children. Berit Kieselbach, has an academic background in Psychology (MSc) and Public Health (MPH). Before joining WHO, she worked as health advisor for German Development Cooperation (GIZ), supporting bilateral cooperation programmes in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe with a focus on health systems development, mental health and violence prevention and worked with various agencies, including WHO, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and Médecins sans Frontières in humanitarian relief programmes in conflict-affected countries in Asia, Central and Latin America, and the Middle East.
