About the session

Climate change threatens to unravel the remarkable advances in global health over the past century. Extreme weather events such as heatwaves, wildfires, floods, and storms act as a threat multiplier increasing the risk of death, the rise and spread of non-communicable and infectious diseases, and health emergencies.

Following the historic outcomes at the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference in Dubai (COP28) and the 77th World Health Assembly, there is growing momentum from the climate and health communities to reimagine development strategies that promote health in a warming world.

This session will highlight community-driven solutions, cross-sector partnerships, and frontline champions advancing climate action for health. A keynote will precede two panel sessions.
