About the session
“No one is safe until all are safe” – a dominant political statement since the roll-out of the first COVID-19 vaccines. How far have we come in terms of global equal access for all to lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines? What more needs to be done to reach the target of vaccinating 40% of the world’s population by the end of year 2021? And which tools do we have to tackle this challenge once and for all?
This session is to reflect on the current status of vaccine access and will illuminate on challenges on the way to reaching the vaccination goals set by the World Health Organization. We will elaborate on mechanisms that are needed to move the needle and to create a more sustainable environment for making vaccines a global public good.
