About the session
Climate Change, armed conflicts, scarce ressources: Current and future crises worldwide call for resilient health care systems. But how can one shape such crisis resilience in people and systems?
Maintaining a functioning healthcare system for a country at war poses a specific challenge: Attacks on health care facilities, displaced workforce and interrupted supply chains are daily occurences. Over the past four years, the Ukrainian healthcare system has proven to be extremely resilient and adaptable. Key functions of the healthcare system are still in place and the provision of medical care has not come to an halt.
This session will focus on the experiences gained by the Ukrainian government and other stakeholders in the field of crises resilience in the healthcare sector. To what extend can these experiences be applied to other crisis contexts?
