Why Europe Must Step Up on Global Health
A new Comment in Nature Health outlines priorities for a stronger European role in global health, building on last year’s WHS Global Health Dialogue in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
The dialogue, held in Berlin in December 2025, brought together European and international stakeholders to discuss Europe’s role in reshaping the global health architecture. The publication takes these discussions forward, calling for coordinated action grounded in political commitment, equitable partnerships, and local ownership.
The authors, identify sustainable financing, resilient health systems, and stronger crisis preparedness as key priorities. Their message: Europe has the foundations to lead – turning this potential into action requires political will and sustained cooperation.
