Digital Solutions for Migrant and Refugee Health: a Framework for Analysis and Action

The WHS Academic Alliance - Lancet Regional Health Europe launched the joint Commission on Health, Migration, and Climate Change in 2024, co-chaired by Luciano Saso (Sapienza University) and Stephen Matlin (Imperial College London). Climate change drives and intensifies migration by exacerbating health risks, disrupting healthcare access, and worsening social determinants of health. Acting as a multiplier, it amplifies displacement drivers like resource scarcity, food insecurity, extreme weather, and habitat destruction, creating unique challenges for migrants and host countries alike.
