"Advancing One Health: Digital Solutions for Global Health Security"

At this WHS Global Health Dialogue, held in collaboration with Capgemini, experts from science, policy, civil society and industry came together to discuss how digital solutions can help improve data sharing within the One Health framework and enhance global health security.

The conversation made clear that while there is no shortage of data, the real challenge lies in accessing the right data at the right time—especially when needs are still emerging.

Participants further emphasized the need to rebuild trust around data sharing. Beyond the rapid digitalization driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been few positive experiences that demonstrate the benefits of cross-sector collaboration. In addition, legal frameworks continue to complicate data sharing and slow down research. There was broad agreement that while fully harmonized data standards across all sectors may not be realistic, more interoperable and practical solutions are needed to support collaboration and strengthen preparedness for future health threats.

The dialogue itself demonstrated the value of this cross-sector approach, with participants embracing the One Health framework to jointly address these pressing challenges.
