With headquarters in Bonn and Eschborn, the German Corporation for International Cooperation was established in 2011 and is one of the world’s largest development agencies today, with more than 17 000 employees across 130 countries. Offering services in the field of international development cooperation, the GIZ implements projects predominantly on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Based on the principle of sustainable development, balancing economic development and political participation with social inclusion and environmental protection, the GIZ carries out consulting and capacity building services in management consulting, rural development, sustainable infrastructure, security and peacebuilding, governance, democracy, environment and climate change. With representations in Berlin, Brussels and sixteen other locations across Germany, as well as leading the Centre for International Migration and Development, the GIZ is a key organization in the field of sustainable development.
