National University of Singapore (NUS)

National University of Singapore (NUS) was established in 1904 by Tan Jiak Kim and a group of representatives. The university now spans three campuses and enrolls 38,000 students from more than 100 countries. The university is especially known for its research in engineering, life sciences and biomedicine, and social and natural sciences. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the University of Singapore places 26th in the world for the 2013–2014 year. Their rankings name the university the second best in Asia for the same year. The National University of Singapore is a member of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies.
