Monash University, established in 1958, is Australia's largest university, with approximately 60,000 students from over 170 countries. The university has seven campuses, five of which are in Victoria, one in Malaysia, and one in South Africa. Monash is divided into 10 faculties. These incorporate the university's major departments of teaching and research facilities such as the Australian Synchrotron, the Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP), and the Australian Stem Cell Centre.
