Charité Competence Center for Traditional and Integrative Medicine (CCCTIM)

The Charité Competence Center for Traditional and Integrative Medicine (CCCTIM) is dedicated to research, generating evidence, and the safe and effective application of nature based and Traditional Medicine. It takes into account the current situation in healthcare and the challenges posed by climate change, which require new concepts that consider the health of humans and nature from a systemic, holistic perspective. The aim is to scientifically evaluate experience-based Integrative and Natural Medicine and to apply evidence-based interventions as a supplement to conventional therapies. In addition to its use in prevention and health promotion, patients with chronic conditions in particular can experience significant relief, reduce side effects, and improve their quality of life through complementary treatment with nature based, complementary, and traditional medical therapies. In line with a Planetary Health or One Health approach, the innovative concepts of the CCCTIM can drive the transformation towards a preventive healthcare system. This project is mainly funded by Friede Springer gGmbH. The CCCTIM defines its own research priorities.
