Ariane Hildebrandt is director general at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Germany, responsible for global health, equality of opportunity, digital technologies and food security (including population policy, social protection, education, decent work, data and statistics, sustainable supply chains, water, circular economy, agriculture and rural development). Ariane Hildebrandt has worked in various areas of the department since 1998. Prior to that, she worked for the Federal Ministry of Finance and the University of Würzburg, where she obtained her PhD. She holds a degree in economics and an MBA from the State University of New York at Albany, USA.
