Dr. Monique Vledder has over 25 years of experience in International Public Health, with a focus on Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Currently, she leads the Health, Nutrition, and Population Department at the World Bank, overseeing efforts in pandemic preparedness, climate and health, and health systems strengthening. As a co-founder of the Global Financing Facility (GFF) for Women, Children, and Adolescents, she helped design and establish the GFF, securing $2.5 billion in financing and leveraging $12 billion in World Bank funds to improve maternal and child health in 38 countries. Monique has extensive experience in innovative health financing and system reforms, working with governments and international organizations. She holds an MD from the University of Amsterdam, an MPH from Harvard, and additional qualifications in health economics and leadership. She is also a mother of two.
