University of Coimbra
The University of Coimbra is the oldest university in the country, and for centuries it was the only university in Portugal. The history of higher education in Portugal is bound closely to the history of this historic center of learning.
The START(H)UP programme provided comprehensive support for innovations that show the potential to have a positive impact on healthcare. The most promising ideas are developed into commercially viable products through a multi-disciplinary approach, involving healthcare, medicine, Medtech, Biotech and Pharmaceutical industry.
The START(H)UP competition was an initiative of the World Health Summit to select the best healthcare company. Twelve Portuguese startups were invited to exemplify the best in the national market.
Coimbra, in the heart of Global Health.
In the Young Physicians Leadership Program (YPL), IAP for Health has identified 10 outstanding young physicians from Portuguese speaking countries who are currently in the process of establishing and developing their careers, who have been exposed to a specific leadership development program followed by participation as special guests at the World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2018.
The IAP for Health Young Physician Leaders Program 2018, Coimbra, Portugal was organized in partnership with Coimbra Health, formed by the University of Coimbra and the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC). It has a special collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.
