Early Bird Offer Until 31 July

For the fifth time, the World Health Summit will bring high-ranking representatives from all health-related fields to Berlin: from Nobel Prize laureates to CEOs to future leaders.

Tickets are available now, including an early bird offering until July 31.

The Summit will be held at the Federal Foreign Office under the high patronage of Angela Merkel, François Hollande, and – for the first time – José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission.

Focus on the Program: Track 1 - "Global Health for Development"

WHO-Session at the World Health Summit 2012

The vision of the World Health Summit is to improve health worldwide. To pursue this, the 2013 program will be structured by four major tracks:

- Global Health for Development
- Evidence to Policy
- Research and Innovation
- Education and Leadership

Coinciding with the actual Post-MDG-discussion, a thematic focus on the track “Global Health for Development” is available online, presenting specialists' opinions, further information, and much more to introduce the background of this track.

New Voices in Global Health

After receiving almost 200 high-class abstracts in 2012, we are pleased to continue the New Voices in Global Health (NVGH) program, organized in cooperation with THE LANCET. This program will again enable young researchers to have the opportunity to present their work at the Summit.

The NVGH is a competitive program designed to highlight important research, policy and advocacy initiatives of new and potential future leaders in global health. Abstracts should be submitted online no later than June 28, 2013.

Young Physician Leaders Program: Call for Nominations

The InterAcademy Medical Panel (IAMP) is seeking candidates to participate in the 2013 Young Physician Leaders Program during the World Health Summit 2013.

The aim of the program is to foster a new generation of leaders in global health, and especially encourages the nomination of women.

Candidates should be under 40 years of age with demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in clinical medicine, medical education, public health or health policy.

Young Physician Leaders 2012

IAMP: Official Statement on Strengthening Health Research Capacity

To improve the health status of all people and contribute to social and economic development and innovation, countries must strengthen their research capacity.

The InterAcademy Medical Panel (IAMP) has developed “A Call for Action to Strengthen Health Research Capacity in Low and Middle Income Countries”, endorsed by over 40 national academies of medicine worldwide.

This statement, its background and outlooks, will be discussed at the World Health Summit 2013 symposium “Research Capacity Strengthening in Low- and Middle-Income Countries”.
