The impact of climate change on health was an area of focus this year. Other topics in the 2019 program included: improving health systems in Africa and around the world, finding solutions to antibiotic resistance, digital health, and strategies for implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The World Health Summit was founded on the 300th anniversary of Charité, Europe’s largest university hospital, and is held under the patronage of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization.
